Allergy & Immunology Physician Dr. Myron Liebhaber and Health Education Director Margaret Weiss shared the proud history of Camp Wheez during a webinar hosted by the Stanislaus County Asthma Coalition. In its 42nd year, Camp Wheez is Sansum Clinic’s free summer day camp for children with asthma. The camp helps children understand and navigate their asthma while they play games, do crafts, cook, and attend labs. The experience provides an opportunity for children with asthma to feel integrated in their community. The Stanislaus County Asthma Coalition was inspired, and will start a similar camp in the future to further asthma awareness in their own communities. They hope to partner with Sansum Clinic to help kick start this endeavor.
