Kanga Pan: An African Horror Story
1 x 60’, 2019, 4K
‘Kanga Pan: An African Horror Story’ is a spine-chilling, wildlife documentary, the first of its kind. A relatively unknown inland waterhole in Mana Pools National Park, Kanga Pan is a gathering point for a melting pot of wildlife species. On the surface, it looks like a peaceful oasis, offering the cooling refreshment of water and bathing. During the dry months of the year, Kanga Pan provides the only source of water for resident wildlife populations for many miles around, making it a hive of activity, where many friendly and not so friendly, animal species meet face to face. But there is a hidden terror lurking in the shadows, a predator tormenting as a multitude of wildlife species to quench its thirst. Who is the killer on the loose? Who is terrorising the Pan? An investigation needs to be undertaken.

A lifelong study by one pioneering scientist has opened our eyes to the secrets of primate society. Now, the story of his discoveries and of this unique group of monkeys can be told in full. ‘A Life Among Monkeys’ tells the story of Smithsonian primatologist, Dr Wolfgang Dittus, through the unfolding narrative of the lives of the toque macaques monkeys, living among the spectacular ruins of an ancient temple in the heart of the Sri Lankan jungle. We encounter a complex hierarchy, inhabited by cute but naïve newborns, politically savvy matriarchs and warring males, captured in rich archive film and contemporary 4K footage. ‘A Life Among Monkeys’ combines immersive natural history storytelling with a fascinating journey of scientific discovery.
