FATHER, I THANK YOU where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. \[42\] And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.” He gave thanks to God for hearing Him already and indeed, acknowledged that the Father always heard Him. He did not even ask Him for anything relating to the situation at hand but simply expressed thanks for the guarantee of power to handle the situation. By thanking God, He expressed faith that He will show Himself strong on His behalf again on that occasion.
