YOUR KINGDOM COME Be a Watchman Isaiah 62:6-7 NKJV I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; They shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent, \[7\] And give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth. It would be most inappropriate for us to conclude on this discussion without drawing our attention to this expectation that the Lord has of us. When you read through the foregoing scriptures, you will notice that God sets some people as watchmen over His affairs. Their job is to cry to Him day and night, asking Him to do what He has promised. The ‘watchman’ stands for the intercessor. We are called to be intercessors, children of God who cry to Him night and day, to birth His kingdom on the earth. Our mandate is not to be silent and never to give Him rest until the kingdom is fully manifested. When we cry that ‘His kingdom should come,’ we are rising up to honour our calling to be watchmen over His inheritance. We honour God as a result and demonstrate our love for Him and the kingdom. The role of the watchman is a noble and privileged 85.
