Page 90 - BULLSEYE PRAYERS
P. 90

YOUR KINGDOM COME He said, ‘I sought for a man to stand in the gap but found none’ (Ezekiel 22:30). He said also in Isaiah 42:22 that “none saith restore” despite the affliction ravaging the people. We are agents sent into the earth to birth the kingdom of God, to stand in the gap to keep the devil in check and ensure the sustaining hand of God is upon His creation. We have been failing in this calling, if we are to be truthful to ourselves. Within the last year, my wife and I have incorporated the Lord’s prayer into our regular/daily prayer sessions. And we pray as earnestly as we can, never the way we have become used to doing it “in church.” That way, we have incorporated a prayer for the church into our daily prayers. All the discuss here has further challenged me such that we will also incorporate a special segment to pray for the church of Christ worldwide on a regular basis. These prayers get answered by God speedily. They hit the ‘bullseye’ because they touch what is dearest to His heart. Jesus died in order that the kingdom should come. When we pray that the kingdom should come, we are praying that the death of Christ will not be in vain. As much as the salvation of a single soul is worth more than the whole world to God, He did not send Jesus to die for a single soul. The Bible says that His desire is that all His creation would be saved, come to Jesus and be restored back to Him. He does not 87.
