Enduring Covid-19 pandemic: Towards building an innovative
and resilient Africa we want

The Multidisciplinary Research Centre (MRC) at the University of Namibia will be hosting the 4 Multi/Interdisciplinary
th
Research Conference under the theme: “Enduring Covid-19 pandemic: Towards building an innovative and
resilient Africa we want”.
The main objective of the conference is to discuss innovative and creative approaches to tackle the Covid-19
pandemic in different sectors, to contribute to resilience in Africa. The theme encourages us to think broadly
about the pathways we can take to build resilience amidst the pandemic. This virtual conference is expected
to bring together academics, practitioners from the public and private sector, NGOs and civil society, as well as
development partners to share ideas on how we can move forward.
The conference is built around 5 thematic areas in terms of how they relate to the Covid-19 pandemic:
• Governance, Economics and Development
• Education and Global Partnership
• Environment, Agriculture and Food Security
• Health, Nutrition and Wellbeing
• Human Rights, Social and Gender Issues
• ICT, Engineering and 4IR Technologies
Abstract submission
Abstract, of not more than 300 words, should be emailed to: abstract2021@unam.na

• 19 April Conference online registration opens
• 09 July Submission of full paper for a special journal issue
