In 1921 (Tulsa, Oklahoma), a

young black man was accused of

assaulting a white woman in an
elevator, sparking an outrage

between blacks and whites at
the courthouse over the man?s

fate.

During the man's hearing, physical

confrontation arose and a riot broke

out. White mobsters rampaged
through all 35 blocks of the Black

Wall Street neighborhood, looting

stores, burning down homes and
killing more than 300 blacks.
