“I don’t want to talk about that anymore. Why do you always have to find
something negative to say? You should not have been allowed to have the cat
then," says Lissi in her typical non-pedagogical manor.
She stares out in front her, looking tired; she let’s her eyes hover over the grey,
comfortless concrete landscape. Finally, the bus arrives.
"Good. Finally we can go home.”
There aren’t many passengers on the bus, so they go all the way down in the
back to sit on the empty seats.
"I hope she doesn't pee now." Ann gently caresses the kitten on her back, it
snarls and crawls under her blouse to hide.
“It’s your first bus ride, little one, don't be afraid, little kitty. Ann is with you. "

Janokovic stands on the plateau of his little balcony and looks out into the
pouring rain and the desolate yard in front of him. He tries to roll a cigarette out
of the last tobacco he has left in the box. The weather has gotten colder and
windy. The yard is built like an elongated square with a total of eleven building
blocks around it. In the middle of the enclosure are newly planted beech trees;
they were purchased already grown, the stand over three metres high. The yard
itself is divided into staggered levels; an idea the architect André Fredriksen has
stole from Belgian architects. Even though the yard has just recently been
renovated, it still feels kind of shabby. Whether these are the places where the
building constructor has been trying to save money is still not clear. The graffiti-
painters in the area have been spray-painting in the specific places in the yard,
where it’s been possible for them to find the right space for their pieces. Places
such waste racks, as well as the walls surrounding the square have all been
picked out to host the painters’ street art. Fortunately for residents, the newly
planted beeches are still unscathed.
Janokovic’s balcony is a big mess; why should he clean up? He thinks to himself.
