something new has suddenly appeared, something suggesting that the police

theory might be wrong. It is a complicated case, and as I said we will have to talk
together at some point again. ”

"Yes, yes, since it has been so many years after his disappearance. Have

you not been able to find him or rather clues in this case? " She asks.
"No – that’s is the short answer to that question. Unfortunately.”

Inge-Lise nods and stares into air, looking tired. She lifts a finger up in

front of her face as when you want to say something important.
"Yes…" She mumbles out. “It doesn’t completely surprise me what you

say. Johan's father was an incredibly charming and wise man, and to be
completely honest, I think he had other women than me; he was a very secretive

type. I can remember that was why I did not have so many doubts about

travelling away. In my mind, I had always the hope that he would crawl back to
me and repent, tell me what he’s done. He never did.”

"Alright," says Tom quiet and understandingly.

"You know, as a young person you want to believe in a symbiosis with
your partner, which is not always the case. You are lucky if you find love like

                   that."
"True. Did he have many secrets?"

“Yes, he did. He went away to weird meetings at all times of the day,

weekends as well. He used to always carry a gun, which obviously is against
German law, but what surprised me even more, was that all of that wasn’t

necessary. He was a well-guarded, protected individual once he gained success

                   with his business."
"Interesting. I'll stop by next week for another meeting. I have to leave nu

now, but know this, your information has been extremely useful." Tom finishes

his tea and gets up, looking for his coat.
Inge-Lise insists on following him all the way to his car, even though it is

still snowing heavily outside. He can’t help to think whether this old lady will trip

and fall flat in the snow, especially with a rusty knee like that.
"Remember," she says with a slightly worried gaze. "I have always been a

bit of a rebel by heart and followed my intuition in nearly every aspect of my life.
My intuition tells me that Johan is still alive, try to find him."
