SINNETS 109
eight-strand sinnets
As with all sinnet work, the addition of more strands
usually increases the possibilities (some would say
complexity!) of the weaves available. Some, though,
remain simple in essence, and such is the case here.
The first method requires only four separate steps,
and the second method follows an over-one, under-
one style that we have observed previously.
Method 1
3 – outer right under one, over two to the left…
1 Start five strands to the left and three to the
right…
4 – outer left over one, under two, over one to
the right…
2 – outer left under one, over two, under one to
the right…
5 – outer right over one, under two to the left.
Repeat Stages 2 to 5 as needed.
