11 Pass each strand down again alongside the
second and back up through the knot to the
top.

12 Start a two-over Crown (over two and
down), passing each strand in turn, lower
left starting here.

Here is the view from the
top after all five strands
have been crowned.
Each strand is now tucked down through
the centre of the knot, the strands tightened
one by one and after tightening, each strand
is cut off under the Star Knot.
The finished Star Knot with
a Double, Crowned Rose
finish. If you start with the
Half Hitches to the right
instead of to the left, the
‘rotation’ of the star will be
reversed from the anti-
clockwise ‘rotation’ shown
here, to clockwise.
