expanding the number of Bights in three-lead,
Four-lead, and Five-lead tH Knots
Let’s start with the progression that takes Three-
Lead TH Knots from 3L5B to 3L8B, then 3L11B,
etc. You can see that the number of bights is
increased by three for each successive expansion.
Here is how to make the expansion or progression
from one to the next in the series.
3 cross the right part over the left part.
1 start with a 3l5B tH as the base.
4 tuck back up from right to left for the first
expansion to 3l8B. repeat the process as many
times as you can for an increase of three bights
each time the tuck goes from left to right and
back again (3l8B to 3l11B to 3l14B and so on).
2 tuck from left to right, following the standing
part.
