Ty Gotcher
Freshman Head Coach | Assistant Defensive Coach
Coach Ty Gotcher is entering his 28th year of coaching and
teaching. This will be his fourth year at Westlake HS after
coaching six years at Hill Country MS and West Ridge MS.
Prior to working in Eanes ISD, he coached at several high
schools including Pflugerville Hendrickson HS, Dripping
Springs HS and Fairfax HS in Los Angeles. Coach Gotcher is
a native Texan, graduating from Grapevine HS, and received
a bachelor’s in History from Texas Tech University. He teaches
U.S. History at WHS. Coach Gotcher and his wife have two
sons and two daughters.
Ashley Dukes
Assistant Offensive Coach | Wide Receivers
Coach Ashley Dukes is entering his second year of coaching at Westlake
HS. Coach Dukes attended East Texas Baptist University where he earned
both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Kinesiology. At ETBU he also
played baseball where he received All-Conference Honors as a pitcher.
Coach Dukes began his coaching career as an assistant coach in baseball,
basketball and football at Marshall HS for five years before moving on to
Lindale HS for two years. In addition to his role on the football coaching
staff, Dukes serves as the pitching coach for the baseball program.
Garrett Sherrill
Assistant Offensive Coach | Running Backs
Coach Garrett Sherrill is entering his first year of coaching at Westlake HS.
He attended Texas State University as a student-athlete playing baseball
and later earned a master’s degree from the University of Houston. Coach
Sherrill spent five years as head baseball coach and assistant football coach
at Lexington HS, and coached baseball and football at Hendrickson HS.
Before transitioning into high school coaching, Coach Sherrill spent 13
years working for the Kansas City Royals and San Francisco Giants
minor league systems. When not coaching, he enjoys hunting, traveling
and spending time with his wife, Jennifer.
