Celebrating the 140th anniversary of Christian Mission in Korea, it is desirable for museums
to be built in major cities and provinces across the country to hold and promote the history
and relics of the early Korean church. Dongnae Central Presbyterian Church in Busan built
a vision center, opened the Korea Christian Mission Museum from the third floor of it, and
opened it to the Korean churches.
The stories of missionaries such as Presbyterian missionary Underwood and Methodist
missionary Appenzeller who arrived at the port of Jemulpo together on the morning of
Resurrection in 1885, the footsteps of the Korean Churches, which grew and became a
mission center around the world without disappearing despite the pressure of Japanese
imperialism and the persecution of the Communist Party, and the history records spread
from missionaries in each country were there. The origins and histories of the Christian
denominations including the spread of the gospel through medical care, education, music,
and physical education in the calm and sleeping Joseon land, and the symbol of love for
Korea of 192 people who were martyred for the land were arranged. In particular, when
entering the lobby, you will be impressed by the artifact of “The Pilgrim’s Progress”, which

Kosin University was established in 1946 under the name of
“Koryeo Theological Seminary” by Rev. Han Sang-dong and Rev.
Joo Nam-sun. The school motto is “CORAM DEO: Life before God.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Calvin Academy’ was established in 1955 and the
departments of theology, religion, English literature, and philosophy
were opened. The two schools were merged in 1961 and became
Korea Theological Seminary in 1962.
It was promoted to Korea Theological University in 1970 and
theological department was opened. The Christian Education
Department was established in 1976 and graduate school approval
was obtained in 1978. It was renamed Kosin University in 1980 and
changed its name to Kosin University in 1993. Meanwhile, the Korea
Theological Seminary is located at 40 Samyong-dong, Cheonan-si,
Chungcheongnam-do, and there is also a campus in Songdo.
