site was established for tuberculosis patients by
missionary Hugh Linton (Korean name Inhue, was born in
Korea, lived for Korea, and ended his life in Korea) and his wife.
Built in 1925 to commemorate George Watts,
who gave his full material and emotional support
to mission, the building has been used as a Bible school, missionary accommodation,
Suncheon Presbyterian Education Center, and tuberculosis clinic. Located on the second
and third floors of Suncheon Christian Medical Center, the museum displays missionary
materials such as photos of Christian missionaries from the late period of Joseon and
calendars made by foreign missionaries to introduce Korea to the Western world.
In addition, the living tools used by missionaries such as Hugh Linton are preserved. In the
yard, there are tombstones of missionaries Lottie Bell, the wife of missionary Eugene Bell,
and the tombstone of missionary Robert Goit, as well as monuments of missionaries and
Christians who sacrificed their youth and were martyred.
