During the Korean War, Jeong Gil-sung, a member of Dokcheon Church, was martyred. At

10 people from Cheonhae Church including pastor Park Na Ok-mae, Moon Bong-soon, Oh
Seok-hyun were martyred by communist forces during the Juk-hyun, Kim Min-su, Hyun Young-
Korean War. Until now, the church has dealt with cases of pil, Haenam, Pil-nam (10 people)
being killed by communist forces during the Korean War
as martyrdom. The church considers being killed while
defending one’s faith as martyrdom.
