            Daejeong Church is a church where Pastor Lee Do-jong,
            the first pastor and the first martyr from Jeju, served. A
            monument to the martyrdom of Pastor Lee Do-jong is
            erected in the front yard of the church. Pastor Lee Do-
            jong. Pastor Lee Do-jong met Rev. Lee Ki-poong at the age
            of 17 and received Jesus Christ as his savior and entered
            Pyongyang Theological Seminary. He was invited by the Gwangju Church, but refused to do
            so and returned to his hometown to visit various regions and preached hard. Even though
            the entire Jeju Island was in chaos due to the April 3 incident in 1948, he took care of
            various churches including Daejeong Church.
            In June 1948, while riding a bicycle to worship at Hwasun Church, he met a member of the
            Communist Party and was taken into the mountains. Unfortunately, there was also a deacon
            from Hwasun Church. When Pastor Lee Do-jong was asked to pray for the communist army
