badminton
My favourite game is badminton right from
childhood. I just simply love to play badminton at
any time of the day. My dad taught me the game
with small plastic rackets when I was just two and
started loving the game from then on. Although I am
not a professional player, I do play the game
regularly. Badminton or shuttlecock is a sport for all
and is a favourite among many children and adults.
It is being played by everyone and everywhere, right
from inside the house to the huge badminton courts
or stadium. It is a great game that improves hand–
eye coordination, focus and attention, physical and
mental strength, decision–making skills and overall
makes us physically and mentally fit. It is played with
a racket and a shuttlecock by two or four players
across a net. It requires good physical stamina and
mental ability to play. The game also enhances
competitive and social skills. I joined a badminton
class when I was 8 at The ICF Sports Academy
Centre. My coach is a district player and I enjoyed
playing on the court. The session was 1 hour a day
throughout Monday to Friday and I learned the
basics of badminton and a few tricks. Also, the coach
dedicatedly spends one day for physical fitness in a
