Owner/User: Silvercare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center
Location: Woodlyn, Pennsylvania
Design Statement: Bernardon is currently providing
architectural design services for the Silvercare Nursing and
Rehabilitation Center, a new, 137,500 SF facility which will
consist of long-term care, short-term rehabilitation, personal
care/assisted living accommodations for approximately
200 residents, an urgent care center, and an adult day care
center.
The four-story center incorporates Asian auspicious concepts
within the design of the building. Key factors include the
orientation of the main entrance at 315 degrees northwest, Although not exclusive, the facility is dedicated to serving
capturing extensive natural light with most of the resident members of the Asian community with dietary and lifestyle
rooms facing south, east, or west. The building footprint preferences considered accordingly.
mimics the profile of an elephant with its trunk facing down
to symbolize strength, wisdom, and longevity. The project is on hold pending financing.
