West Chester University Quad
Location: West Chester, Pennsylvania
Design Statement: The services provided by Bernardon
included the development of a concept for new gateways,
pathways, and vistas organized around and as part of
a new “Great Lawn” centerpiece. The Quad is not just a
lot between buildings, but a dynamic set of spaces with
educational, recreational, and symbolic importance for
the University. The way in which the spaces interact with
one another, visually and physically, creates an entirely
new experience for students, staff, faculty, and visitors to
the campus.
