Christiana Hospital Medical Building Expansion
Owner/User: ChristianaCare
Location: Newark, Delaware
Design Statement: Bernardon provided design services
for a 122,000 SF medical building expansion project at
this regional hospital. The project involved infilling in an
existing courtyard to add 67,000 SF of space over three (3)
floors and two (2) overbuild additions totaling 55,000 SF
above the existing emergency department, which remained
operational during construction.
The project was awarded “Institutional Project of the Year”
as recognized by McGraw-Hill Construction in their annual
Mid-Atlantic Region Awards Program
