Message from Principal
At Goldcrest High, Vashi, the success of the Academic Year 2018-19 set the pace for the Academic Year 2019-20. With renewed hope
and vigour we continued our journey ‘on the wings of excellence’. The ’10 years of excellence’ celebrations came to a close in August,
with the ‘Lit Connoisseur’ festival. During the week-long fiesta, the corridors of GHV hummed with activity as students from
schools across Mumbai participated enthusiastically. Guided by their teachers, the Goldcrestians executed an array of competitions
that combined creativity and hands-on experiential learning.
‘Education is not preparation for life, but life itself.’ For education to be complete it must comprise life skills, socio-emotional well-
being, mindfulness, reflection, the importance of community, care of self and society, which are a part of the GHV school program,
an extension of a student’s home that keeps student-learning continuous. Goldcrestians pondered over the theme for the AY 2020-
2021 and decided that it should be ‘Gratitude’, as “Gratitude turns what we have into enough.” It is important to be grateful for the
privileges that we have.
The successful Academic Year was brought to an abrupt halt by the COVID-19 pandemic. Stunned by this unprecedented change, the
school premises were closed but learning continued unabated through online platforms which brings to my mind the famous quote by
Albert Einstein -‘Education is about the training of minds to think’. Together we can overcome the grim situation by supporting
each other. Stay home and be safe!
With best wishes,
Mrs. Jaspal Gill
