The PNP Will...
• Create a National Mental Healthcare Agency.
• Support efforts to reduce stigma and discrimination.
• Increase human resource capacity to effectively manage the growing demand for mental health services.
• Create greater access to services.
• Establish a national help line that persons can call when they are
experiencing mental health crisis.
• Provide funding/resources for accommodation and social assistance for the mentally ill.
NATIONAL HOSPICE SYSTEM
The PNP has a record of implementing compassionate policies and institutions to help people at every stage of life. The PNP during its next term will develop, starting in Providenciales, a hospice system for the terminally ill. The benefits include the ability to:
• Live as fully and comfortable as possible to the end of their lives.
• Cost effective and accessible to family and friends.
• More suited to long-term care.
• Focus on symptom management, and social, practical, emotional and spiritual support.
