Courtney Mancur Missick was born in Kew, North Caicos in 1973 to Mrs Helen Missick and the late Isaac “Johnny” Missick. He would receive his primary and secondary
education at the Kew Primary School and the North Caicos High School respectively. At the tender age of 14 in 1987, while other children his age were playing ring games and bat and ball, Courtney started his very first Farm on a quarter of an acre plot near the back of his yard, growing bananas, cabbage, beets, papayas, and sweet peppers while also harvesting honey from the use of beehives from the then defunct government farm. Being an industrious child he would go on to sell his produce to the Pelican Beach Hotel. Continuing to hone his craft over the years with the development of plant nurseries and harvesting of local plants and flowers, Courtney received technical training assistance, which allowed him to develop his 10-acre farm to a commercial scale in 2006. To date Courtney supplies produce from his farm to IGA, Rosie’s Delight and other restaurants within the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Having given his life to the Lord in 1990, after completing High School Courtney has been preaching the good word ever since, having founded the Grace Temple Church of God in Christ December 6th 1995 where he is the resident Pastor. Through his evangelistic works in the Church, Courtney has visited various churches throughout North Caicos over the years, as a Preacher, Singer, and Keyboardist. He also made donations of cash and kind to the Clinic and Primary School in North Caicos. His outreach was primarily supported by his owning and operating of CM Sanitary Services which provided sanitation services for the communities of Kew, Whitby, and Sandy Point.
