RLC SERVICES

Energy Management

Starting with the decision process, RLC can develop the
preliminary documentation and organization strategies including
conceptual design, probable cost studies, and RFP solicitations.
For project managers, we can provide Construction Management
services, Owner Engineer services and third party reviews. RLC
can also support our Clients by supporting, measuring, verifying
project performance and financials even after project completion.

Experience
Atlantic Salmon Facility
RLC developed a 27 MW CHP preliminary design package for a
sustainable farm-raised Atlantic salmon facility, which included
selection of the prime mover, heat recovery and power generation.
Costs for electricity, fuel, and fuel sources were considered
for multi-fuel turbines and reciprocating engines. Absorption
chillers and steam driven chillers were assessed. The client was
furnished with a probable cost, financials and a reliability analysis
to determine the company’s power reliability risk.

Hardwood Lumber Manufacturer
RLC provided a major hardwood lumber manufacturer a design
for underground electrical connection for 150 kW steam engine
and turbine backpressure generators to the local utility. RLC field
crews evaluated the generation control cabinet and developed
record drawings for the utility and electrical inspector so
interconnection could be completed. Tasks included sizing battery
and evaluating electrical loads in the adjoining steam boiler plant.

Aquaculture Facility
RLC provided a preliminary design and probable cost for a
complete 14.4 MW reciprocating multi-engine diesel fuel peaking
plant with absorption chillers for a land based aquaculture facility.
The client was also provided with an alternate model of a CHP
Dual Fuel reciprocating engine plant with absorption chillers using
primarily natural gas. To source the natural gas, RLC developed an
analysis and probable cost for a new natural gas distribution
pipeline for the project and the adjacent city.

Additional Projects
RLC has provided piping stress analysis for new and refitted power
plant steam turbine steam blow piping for multiple clients within
the US. Our engineering services have included pipe line schedule
selection, support design and placement of temporary supports.
