In 1901, Leopold F. Schmidt, founder of the Capital Brewing Company (later Olympia Brewing),
hoped to expand his little empire by building a new brewery on Bellingham Bay. Appropriately
called Bellingham Bay Brewery, the plant introduced its 3-B Beer on January 1, 1903. This photo
shows the bottling department at the Bellingham plant.
