Imports Mafia
In the eight years between 2013 and 2019,
the value of world shoe exports to Iran,
according to international sources, reached a
total of about 2.12$ billion, with an average
of about 265$ million per year in the period
under review.
Of course, the trend of this index has
fluctuated in different years, with a peak in
2014 at 579$ million and a decline in 2020
to about 43$ million. In the same period,
the official statistics of the Customs of the
Islamic Republic of Iran show the official and that about %88 of the imported shoes
declared import of 84$ million dollars.
This means that on average, in the 8 years
under review, about 25 times as much as
officially declared at the customs, shoes have the maximum and minimum statistics of
been imported from different countries and
in different ways.
The question is, how many shoes and at what
prices have made these 2.119$ billion or
265$ million? What has been the price range
of the imported shoes? And which part of the
market is targeted by importers in terms of
Aincome and age?

Considering the role of the UAE in exporting
Chinese products to Iran, it can be estimated
belonged to China and the rest to Turkey,
Italy, Thailand and India.
Before continuing the analysis, a review of
world shoe export and import prices in 2018
will help to better understand the topics of
this note:
The average export price of each pair of
shoes in the world increased from 6.77$ to
9.63$ between 2010 and 2018. The category
of leather shoes with an average export price
of 25.81$ is the most expensive and rubber
and plastic shoes class with an average
export price of 5.34$ is the cheapest group of
Ishoes.

is 4.68$, Turkey 3.38$ and India 9.5$. The
average price of a pair of imported shoes
in the world increased from 9.7$ to 11.2$
during the nine years under discussion.
