Sara Wright from Ysgol Gynradd Parcyrhun, Ammanford explains some of the
benefits they’ve seen by switching from small milk bottles to cups:

“A big advantage is that there is less plastic waste when using larger bottles.
Only one or two bottles per class in the Foundation are used daily. In addition,
there is less milk waste as the pupils get a cup that is half full rather than a
bottle of milk each. If the pupil needs more they could then ask for more.

Milk time works in different ways for us at Ysgol Parcyrhun. In the Nursery and
Reception classes we drink the milk together after playtime. Alternatively, in
Year one and two, they pour the milk first thing and they have the morning to
drink it in their own time. We have noticed that this gives independence to
the pupils in these classes.
This change has been a very positive one for us at Ysgol Parcyrhun - Go for it!”
