In Science we are using the prevalence of lichen to assess the levels of
pollution around our school. We observe and record the biodiversity in the
school grounds with the aim to develop analysis and improvement suggestions
to create a greener environment.
We use the local farm and eco park in our assessments in lower school to
assess pupil’s understanding of the impact humans have on the environment
and help them make more environmentally beneficial decisions. Energy use in
the home is also discussed with pupils identifying ways they can reduce their
energy usage and make use of the reduce-reuse-recycle advice.
