Precipitates, Crystals, and Debris
• Mechanical debris; polyester, resist, dirt, paper, tape
• Precipitates from out of balance or over-used ferric or secondary reactions
• Allowing the specific gravity or pH to rise too far will make precipitates
• Exceeding the holding capacity of the solution, ex. copper in ferric
• Secondary reactions can make; metallic hydroxides, sulfides, etc.
• Crystals can form from side reactions and regeneration
• Sodium chlorate regeneration can form sodium chloride crystals
• Some crystals can be very hard and abrasive.
