Hard Scale
• Typical color varies from light to dark gray in appearance
• Sometimes it appears “glass like” especially inside pipes
• Filtration doesn't prevent the formation of hard scale because either the particles are too fine to be removed by typical filters or it forms in situ by either a chemical reaction or amalgamation of micro particles.
• Appears everywhere, including difficult to access locations such as;
• Inside pipes, where pieces can break loose and block and/or damage
nozzles, abrade seals, O-rings and other moving parts. • Most difficult to remove of the etching by-products
• Not easily dissolved by rinsing with strong hydrochloric acid
• Not easily removed by “power washing”
