Extension of Human Body
We understand how technology can be an extension of ourselves – a car rather than walking. The car becomes the extension of the foot, but what is lost? But this can lead to an amputating of the original modality .
What we perceive as conveniences remove or destroy previous technologies. He asks us to think about the amputations. For instance, using cars stops people from walking, leading to obesity, deaths by traffic accidents and smog.
