AGRONOMY

MAINTENANCE

As we head into the summer season, we would like
to reiterate the importance of using the gate system
for golf car traffic around tees and greens. As you
can see in the picture to the right, traffic tends to
flow in the same area resulting in compaction and
turf decline. The gate system allows us to move
traffic around to alleviate this situation. It also
allows us to keep unsightly ropes and stakes to a
minimum. Unfortunately, we have noticed a decline
in the proper use of this system, so we would like to
re-communicate the process with the upcoming
summer season.
The gate system has an entrance and exit to the
hole. The picture below is the entrance. As
previously stated, the areas that struggle are around
greens and tees.
With the gate system, you will keep your cart on the
path until you reach the entry gate (two posts with
a green top) and enter the hole at this point. Once
you enter, please do your best to keep cart traffic on
the fairway and out of the rough.
As you see in the picture to the left, once you reach
the signs in the fairways, follow the arrow direction,
and you will leave the fairway through the exit gate
post. You will stay on the cart path for the
remainder of the hole. We will move them daily to
appropriately distribute the wear and tear of golf
cart usage.
Thank you in advance for adopting the new process;
we ask that you always adhere to it. It will only be
successful if everyone participates.
Yours in turf,
Stacy L. Wallace
