OPERATIONS UPDATES
OPERATIONAL
EXCELLENCE
Congratulations Mike Hickey, Superintendent SBC11 for being
recognized with an Operational Excellence Coin in January by
Chris Locke, Manager, Ballast and Grade.
Mike Hickey is being recognized for delivering unrivaled customer service, cus-
tomer focus, and delivering a quality product.
In mid-January of 2023, Mike received notification at 7 PM that Ferromex offi-
cials were coming to visit the machine the next morning. The machine was
working on KCSMDM during this time.
Mike interacted with the customer at a high-level showcasing the machine's ca-
pabilities. The customer shadowed the machine while they were in production.
They followed up with comments to our marketing department praising the
quality of work the machine was performing. They also had high praise for the
communication taking place with the crew while in production. This customer
experience has contributed to the increased possibility of a new contract on
Ferromex for 2023.
Congratulations Ben Claxton, Assistant Manager for being recognized with an Operational
Excellence Coin in December 2022 by Chris Locke, Manager, Ballast and Grade.
During the week between Christmas and New Year, instead of being home with family and friends like so many of us,
Benjamin was in Delaware testing and inspecting several Amtrak Material Handling cars.
Benjamin sacrificed his time with his family during the holidays to ensure that the MHC cars that were delivered late
in December successfully made it through the initial acceptance stage of the commissioning process. This acceptance
stage being completed before the end of the calendar year was critical in meeting contractual obligations as well as
LORAM revenue recognition. This is one of many examples of Benjamin’s demonstration of the LORAM core values
displayed daily. Congratulations Benjamin!
