OPERATIONS UPDATES
Operational Excellence Coins
Congratulations to the following employ-
ees for being recognized with an Opera-
tional Excellence Coin in July and August!
Paul Teel, Superintendent SBC32 was nominated in August by John Hem-
berry, Manager Ballast and Grade
Paul Teel is being presented with an operational excellence coin. He en-
countered a train approaching while traveling his machine. Operational
excellence was exhibited, and Paul’s actions resulted in safely controlling
and avoiding a train collision from occurring. The unexpected event was
caused due to internal railroad communication failure.
Greg Cox, Superintendent LPC1 was nominated in August by Zebediah
Dintelman, Manager Rail Grinding
I would like to award Greg Cox, Superintendent LPC1, with my August
Operational Excellence Coin.
On 8/18/2020 Greg was operating LPC1 from the rear cab on New York
City Transit when he noticed a trespasser in foul of the track. Greg was
able to safely bring the machine to a stop without incident. By following
Loram's SOPs Greg and the crew of LPC1 avoided a potentially cata-
strophic event.
Scott Packer, Superintendent UC1202 was nominated in July by Tyler
Beebe, Manager Rail Grinding
I nominate Scott Packer for the July 2020 Operational Excellence Award.
Scott has been successfully executing his machine’s contract with great
operating stats, high margins, and high customer satisfaction. UC1202 has
the potential to hit record margin for an undercutter contract. Scott has
done all this with a crew that has had high turnover due to circumstances
out of our control.
