Spotlight—Tom Lozinski
Employee Spotlight—Continued
When I am at home, I spend a lot of time working around the yard. We have about 4 acres of lawn that is
just like a little park, so a lot of time is spent cutting grass, trimming trees and planting flowers. There is al-
ways time for our two dogs Jack and Max.
I live along Highway 16 between Endako and Burns Lake, BC. What I love about where I live is the solitude.
No neighbors for a mile, just us, our 2 dogs and the resident Grizzly Bear that lives up behind the house.
On my last time off, Sandy and I were married at our home in the country. It was a small wedding with 20
of our close friends and family. The weather was perfect, and we could have not asked for a better day.
The best advice I was given was to treat people the way you would like to be treated and always have good
working morals. I am sure everyone's father has given them sound advice, and this was given to me. I still
try to practice it every day.
Advice I would give any new employee - it may be hard being away from home and from your family but
give the job a fair shot. There are no dumb questions. Don't be scared to speak up and ask, it may save your
life. And I have always said that anyone can ask me any question. I may not have the answer, but I sure will
try to get it for you.
When I retire, I would like to master gun smithing and open my own shop for gun repairs and reloading am-
munition. Having 8 handguns myself, from a .22 caliber up to the Smith and Wesson 500 Mag revolver, it
gets costly for ammunition.
Skills I have obtained over my working career. I have worked for Trans Canada pipelines for 20 years and
became a certified Mill Wright. I have worked on jet engines and worked in various saw and paper mills and
was able to practice my skills and trade. Something I am very proud of to this day.
