as they scrubbed away a week of hard work in the

fields. The younger children would look on or

played traditional ring games. I longed to play
hopscotch or a game of rounders, but of course,

my powerful torrential waves would have washed

everything and everyone away. I could not bear the

thought of such a beautiful landscape turning into

a watery grave, so I must be contented with being
a silent onlooker.
