Energy conservation means Energy conservation is often
referred to as the ‘low hanging fruit’ because all it requires
is rationing the amount of energy used by
incorporating simple lifestyle changes regarding energy
use. Applying in energy conservation measures
within our homes, and businesses help to reduce
our carbon footprint and provide many
environmental benefits as well as monetary savings.
Energy Conservation is important because it:
• Reduces energy consumption.
• Reduces utility bills.
• Reduces operation costs and increases profitability for businesses.
• Helps to save money.
• Extends the lifetime of the equipment.
• Lessens the maintenance cost by operating fewer hours.
• Reduces carbon emissions.
ACTIVITY: PANEL DISCUSSION
Use the panel discussion format to discuss the energy conservation
in the Caribbean. The panel should have persons from different sectors of the society.
