NOTES TO 2019 TIMETABLE

1. The time indicated on the Timetable includes Reading Time.
2. Starting times for all centres within a territory are 09:00 hr and 13:00 hr.

3. Private candidates registered for the Alternative Paper (04/2) in the French and
Spanish Unit 1 and Unit 2 examinations will not be required to take a written paper but
will be required to take the oral examinations. No dates have been scheduled for the
oral examinations, however, they must be taken between 16–27 April at the discretion
of the Local Registrar.

4. Art and Design: The Question Papers (Papers 2 and 3 for Unit 1 and Paper 2 for Unit 2)
are to be handed to candidates on Thursday, 18 April. The examinations must be
completed during the period 13-24 May.

5. Once scheduled in the same session, the Alternative Paper 03/2 must be written after
Paper 1.

Use of Dictionaries

6. The use of dictionaries is permitted for French and Spanish Paper 03 ONLY. Candidates
are allowed one text related to each theme to assist them in answering Section B of
Paper 03.

N.B: Texts that are heavily annotated are not permitted in the examination room.

Use of Calculators
7. The use of silent non-programmable scientific calculators is permitted for the following
examinations:

(i) Accounting Units 1 and 2
(ii) Applied Mathematics Units 1 and 2
(iii) Biology Units 1 and 2
(iv) Building and Mechanical Engineering Drawing Units 1 and 2
(v) Chemistry Units 1 and 2
(vi) Design Technology Units 1 and 2
(vii) Economics Units 1 and 2
(viii) Electrical and Electronic Technology Units 1 and 2
(ix) Environmental Science Units 1 and 2
(x) Financial Services Studies Units 1 and 2
(xi) Geography Units 1 and 2
(xii) Integrated Mathematics
(xiii) Logistics and Supply Chain Operations Units 1 and 2
(xiv) Management of Business Units 1 and 2
(xv) Physics Units 1 and 2
(xvi) Pure Mathematics Units 1 and 2
(xvii) Sociology Units 1 and 2 – Paper 1 only
(xviii) Tourism Units 1 and 2
