41. The number of registered candidates for the CVQ* this year was 5,199 in 45
occupational areas. This compared to 40 occupational areas in 2016 and 34 in 2015. There
was a significant increase in the CVQs taken by Barbados and Jamaica while the OECS
territories showed reduced entries in 2017. Overall, there were 135 more females than males
being awarded CVQ* in 2017 with 4685 Qualifications being issued for the year. Table 14
below shows the comparative candidate entries by territory for 2016 and 2017.
