The Scary Iguana
         I
t was Sunday morning on a hot day in Grenada.

There lived a family in Saint David who enjoyed

being outdoors. It was the summertime. During

the summer, it is normal to see iguanas coming

out of their homes to find water.

Mrs Warren woke up her two children, Betty and

Peter, for them to do their chores. On Sunday

mornings, the children were responsible for

cleaning the whole house and cleaning the yard.

Their mother would prepare lunch for the family.

Mrs Warren was smart, humble and kind. Betty

was beautiful, faithful and obedient. Peter was a

          coward but handsome and creative.

On her way down the back step to throw out the

trash, Betty saw a huge iguana on the step.

The iguana was green and had blue stripes. This
type of iguana is special in Grenada because of its

          blue stripes.

There were spikes going down his back, his claws

were sharp and he had fierce-looking teeth.
