Jax, a 3-year old German Shepherd, was having severe seizures that

could not be controlled. We referred him to Veterinary Specialty
and Emergency Center (VSEC), and the fund covered costs for a
neurology consult, MRI, and follow-up treatment. He was diag-

nosed with epilepsy, and his medication adjusted. Jax’ seizures have
decreased dramatically. In the past few months after a second medi-

cation adjustment, he has had only one seizure. He is pictured here
with his person Robin, who are both looking quite happy.

Lady, A 10-year old Boxer/Coonhound mix, suffered a severe CCL tear
(ACL in us 2-leggeds). It required an expensive surgery called TPLO to
repair the tear to the cruciate ligament and the meniscus. The surgery

was successfully performed at VSEC.

Due to Lady’s age, her recovery was a bit slower and involved a few
complications. But her person, Adrienne, a special education teacher
devoted to Lady, gave her T.L.C she needed to get better, little by lit-

tle. Of course, CAS continued to assist with the cost for Lady’s treat-
ment. Today, she is doing well, and looking forward to a long life with

Adrienne.

Bentley, who was treated at CARES, lost his battle with lymphoma

in late March, but through the fund was given two more precious
months with his family, especially 7-year old Gianna, with whom
he shared a special bond.
