One Day you shall Rise!
AISHANI KUNDU, IX /X
Do you see that girl
With a pretty little face?
Beneath those golden curls and angel eyes
Is a face shattered by distress.
‘They’ might try to drown you but one day
you shall rise!
Do you see that boy?
Thrown at him are words stabbing like
steely knives.
His pillow soaks up with tear-stricken eyes
But each day he struggles to survive.
‘They’ might try to drown you but one day
you shall rise!
Do you see that fat girl?
Mocked and scowled with hurtful
names.
Huddled in the corner with tears in her
eyes,
Seething with rage, her body burns in inner
flames.
‘They’ might try to drown you but one day
you shall rise!
Do you see that boy?
The one with the glasses,
His face chiseled with cuts and gashes.
He prays to God for all this to cease
‘They’ might try to drown you but one day
you shall rise!
Do you see all those people?
Their lives are nothing but a painful scar.
But don’t worry, your day is not far:
One day you shall be freed from this ugly
Tanisha Dubey
cage of ‘hate’
So wipe your tears, for it’s not too late. IX/ X
Because one day, you shall rise
One day, you shall rise.
