WHEN THE WEATHER IS

                                                       FINE

                                 ---ADHISHA CHATTOPADHYAY, XI/XII

Winter was over. Emma and George met under that tree

again as cherries blossomed that year. That tree was

filled with their laughter, words and smiles from their

past. George finally asked, “Did you find happiness?”

Emma replied, “Most of us don’t even know where our

happiness lies. We look for it and run after it. Even after

we get it within our sight, it takes a lot of effort and care

             to make it ours.

The path is treacherous but not impossible.” George

thought Emma was right. Happiness is rather like a guest

who visits us from time to time. It doesn’t stay with us for

long. At times, we may try for long yet fail to be happy.

However, that’s what makes it more interesting. Nobody

can foresee what lies ahead in the future. Emma and

George, after seeing the different colours of the world

individually, were back under this tree, the tree which

was filled with their laughter and memories. Happiness

sometimes is right there but maybe it’s just a matter of

             time before we reach it.
