There are many ways in which one
could interpret this situation: the
positive way, in receiving lot of
exposure that will be helpful in the
future but also help and the negative
way, as in making friends I would
never see again and forging emotional
bonds which I was forced to sever
once we moved away. It wasn’t easy.
However, it would be wrong to just focus
on the negatives as the last time when I
went to London, I ended up falling in love
with the place.
I loved the rain, the cozy Christmas eves, those starry silent
nights I would spend gazing outside my window and
listening to the whistling wind as a car passed by. It was not
just a charming place to me but also a place for which made
me understand the meaning of powerful friendship. It was
where I met my first best friend, someone I am still in touch
with. I remember how she would go out of her way every
morning to come pick me up so that we could walk to school
together.
Time seems so much more valuable in retrospect, when we
look back at every moment that made us smile. Some
people believe that the past is dead, however every place
that I have ever visited still lives in me. Such, I know from
the core of my being, is the true beauty of a cherished
memory.
