                          SECTION 1,
              (a) British.
                     (1) The Hon'ble Lt.-Colonel C.G. Prior held the
           office of Political Resident in the Persian Gulf through­
           out the yea.r. On the Kinp's Birthday he received the
           rank of K.C.I.E., and was flighted a month later under the
           name of .Sir Geoffrey Prior.

                     (ii) Captain J.B. Howes held the office of
           Secretary to the Political Resident in the Persian Gulf
           until :.ay 14th, when he was relieved by Caotain P.J.Keen.
           The latter haloed over on June 2nd to Hr. R.G. Daubeny,
           who held the office until the end of the year.

                     (iii) On Lay 14th the post of H.K. Consul, liushire
           was separated from that of Secretary to the Political
           Resident in the Persian Gulf, and was filled by Major J.3.
           Howes, who he Id'the office until the end of the year.
                      (iv) The office of Vice-ConSul was held for
           different periods by i.r, T.H. Royers, Hr. R.I.Hallows,
           Captain P.F.C. Nicholson, hr. G.H. Jackson, and Captain
           P.J. Keen.*
                      (v)  The oost of Residency Curveon was held by
          Major H. Holmes until 6 th October when he left for India
           on retirement. Dr. R. Easy officiated in the post *mt-il
           12th December when it was filled by Major A.R. Greenway.
                      (vi)  Mr. G. J. Stephens assumed ckar-e of t3*.e
           recently re-opened post of-Consular .irent, L?.n**ah on 6 th
          October
               (b) Persians.
                        (i) Aqai Kasmai, Officiating ps Governor of
          Bushire, handed over the post to Dr. Hehdi Kisati in February.
          Dr. Hisabi, who is a D.C.L. of Paris, is of considerably
          hipher capacity than the general run of Governors, and
          throughout the* remainder of the year proved hir.seIf well-
          disposed and co-operative.
                         (ii) Aqai Daulatshahi remained as Director of
          Customs throurhout the year, except for a short spell when
          he officiated at Khorramshalir. His character was described
          in my last Administration Report.
                          (iii) Pasyar (Colonel) Jahid, the Chief of
          Police, who had effected considerable improvement in the
          discipline of the force, and who was.a staunch An-loohile,
          died in Nover.ber. The post has been filled, in an offic­
          iating capacity, by Rasadban (Lieutenant) uhaffari.
                          (iv) Garwan (Captain) Ghadrawan, who was
          Chief of Gendarmerie during the first part of the year,
          .left his post under a cloud, owinc to a somewhat rtauche
          attempt to intervene ih the politics of the 3anadir-i-
          Galas area by arresting Shaikh Abdur Rasul al Nasuri. No
          particular reason could be ascertained for this arrest, and
