My views regarding the three points rained by the
r irU
Shaikh through Shaikh Abdullah urn *ie followsi-
(1). In asking for equal rights w.lth othor arub rulera
tho Shaikh forgets the following points
(a) that both he and his fathor .tore made Shaikhs by
the British Government and I think it more than doubtful
whether they would have retained their positions but
for the support of tho British Government. It results
that tho British Government is fr+v-hft responsible for
the good gOYernmont of Bahrain to a groatA.GXtent than

in tho case of othor Arab Rulera,

(b) That^tho Persian and Turkish Qovommontu both olaiaed

tho Island as part of their respective Empires, But
for the British support doubtloss one or other would
hayo taken Ioland,
(o) That the immediate causo of the British assuming oharfee
of Foreign subjoots in Bahrain was the tyrannioal
behaviour of the Shaikh and hiB relatives to Persian
subjects culminating in an attuok on‘ them in 19041
