February 1937 enquiring about the progress of the
committee which is working on the code, The com-
mittee was appointed about a year ago but out of
this time they have workod about four months.
During Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamadfs visit to England
and while I was on leuve the committee did ,not sit
and it has only lately resumed its weekly sittings.
The committee has dealt with the following
sections:-.
1. Bankruptcy. . \
2, Diving laws
3. Pearl trudin;: and brokerage, (local)
4. Mortgages ana "Boa Khiari"
0. Land division and partition of
immoveable property.
6. Pre-emption.
7. Court and case regulations and
framing suits.
8. Provisional remedies.
9. Inter pleader.
10. Y/akils.
They propose to deal with about a do:ien more sections
such as:-
1. Sales.
2. Partnerships.
3. Evidence.
4. Estates and wills.
5. Water rights and local usages .)entirely
6. Fish trap rights ) local.
7. Limitation uct.
8. Suits by or against Government.
9. Arbitration.
10. Appeals.
11. Judgment costs.
