                         Stones were brought by boats from Bushirc to Fao for these purposes, but
                      objections were raised by the local Turkish authorities to their landing.
                         The matter had to be referred to Constantinople, and after correspondence

                     Basrah gave the required permission on all the points put forward by the Tele­
                     graph Department, namely:—
                           (i)  To repair the existing mud buildings with stone.
                           (ii)  To extend the station by one Domen on the north side.
                           (iii)  To erect a wall round the total area of the station.
