                                            Edward Grey to transmit to you herewith copy of a

                                            despatch from His Majesty's ChargS d'Affaires at Teh-

                                            ran on the subject, v/ith special reference to the

                                            recent confiscation and 6ale by the Persian customs

                                            authorities of a Bahreini dhow as punishment for a

                                            technical breach of the Customs Regulations.

                                                 It will be observed that Mr. Marling has not yet

                                            received the amended note promised by the Persian

                                            Minister for Foreign Affairs and that he proposes to

                                            take the first opportunity to renew his representa-

                                            tlono on the subject.
